About

Clare Pentelow, Social Worker, Psychotherapist

I have extensive experience working in the mental health field in both hospital and community settings, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and KW Counselling. I have been  providing psychotherapy in a private practice setting for over seven years and am passionate about supporting individuals in their therapeutic process.  I continue to be inspired by the transformations I see and am honoured that my clients have allowed me to walk alongside them on their healing journeys.

Education

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology, from the University of Guelph (2005) and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto (2009). I continuously engage in professional development courses in the area of psychotherapy and have completed trainings in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic approaches, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Kitchener Therapy values diversity and inclusion, and provides a safe space for all people, regardless of race, gender, gender expression, sexuality, religious or cultural background.

Kitchener Therapy is based in Kitchener, the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee Peoples, and now is home to many First Nations, Métis and Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We recognize, honour and respect these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and water on which Kitchener Therapy is now present.
